There is just something about picking up a needle and thread that transports me back in time to the quieter and slower paced days before TV, cell phones and computers.
I was raised by my grandmother in a Victorian farmhouse built in 1897. My grandmother was a seamstress by trade, owning a custom drapery shop. She had a love of all things to do with sewing and yarn. She knew how to knit, crochet, embroider and sew anything. She taught me these skills at a very early age. While her passion was knitting needles and yarn, mine was needle and thread. I fell in love with embroidery from the moment she taught me the basic stitches. I have since learned many different and more advanced embroidery stitches.
Embroidery is my quiet time. I look forward to the moment that I can turn on some classical music, curl up in a cozy chair with a fire going and stitch away.
I wanted to create a website for others who share this same passion and for those who are just beginning their journey in the embroidery world.
